How to play Red Light, Green Light: Action Edition
It’s Red Light, Green Light, but everyone draws a move card first and has to move forward that way. Still moving when It turns around, or not moving the way your card says? You’re caught.

How it works
- Pick someone to be It. It stands at one end facing the wall; everyone else lines up at the other end.
- Pass the phone around so everyone draws a move card (ride a motorbike, crab walk…). No two people get the same move in a round.
- It faces the wall and calls “Green light!” — everyone moves forward their way. On “Red light!” It spins around and everyone freezes.
- Anyone still moving, or not moving the way their card says, is caught and goes to stand next to It.
- When someone tags It, the round is over: they become the new It, the old It joins in, and everyone goes back to the start and draws again.
- When you’ve had enough, end the game: whoever tagged It last draws a move for It to act out, and everyone grabs a photo burst!
Hosting tips
Say thisIt’s Red Light, Green Light, but everyone draws a move card first! Draw “Ride a motorbike” and you ride your way forward; draw “Crab walk” and you go sideways. Still moving when It turns around, or not moving the way your card says, and you’re caught. Tag It and you’re the next It!
- Use a wide space with nothing to trip over. Every move can be done standing up.
- It can call fast or slow to trick people — “Green… light… RED LIGHT!” gets the best laughs.
- It decides whether a move counts. Go easy at first, then get stricter.
